As an ADHD-haver I'm always shocked people can like, do anything with Jira at all? Like people meticulously update their little tasks, and expect everyone else to and it's weird to me. I hate the thing, it goes against how I remain productive in every meaningful way. If I step away from a task IT IS OVER NOW. Like it's so much effort for me to get back to it, so asking me to constantly go over to this shitty app and tell it how I'm doing is basically asking me to commit career suicide.
Yet it's a thing neuro-typical folk INSIST on and argue with me when I tell them I can't do it because they just cannot understand how anyone could ever consider it such a huge ask.
i also do this, i've gotta build up task inertia to start to actually get work done on anything and like, once i'm going, i'm not going to stop (zhe hyperfocus, she is a necessary tools)
but if you force me to stop by breaking that momentum, i've basically gotta start all over again from zero
OK so on my team at my job we have a divide between developers and administrators, only administrators can promote any code, so the developers and admins are constantly assigning tickets back and forth to eachother for code review, promote from sandbox to dev, dev to stage, stage to prod.
if I did not have to do this I would update my tickets once - at the beginning when I fill out all the info, and once at the end when I close it. It is annoying as hell.
