Apparently I'm invited to a retirement party for someone that works at something called The Gateway School? The tone & context clues of the email seems to suggest that they think I'm an alumni.
But, it came to my e-mail address that uses my real name, the one I use pretty much exclusively for communicating with my extended family & "official" stuff like job applications & whatever where knowing my real name is important. Seeing as how I am, to my knowledge, the only Alex K* in the entire United States of America, I am very confused as to how this could have happened.
When I google "The Gateway School" it pops up with a special education school in Carteret NJ, which like, is not where I went to school even a little bit, Carteret is out by Staten Island. The part of North Jersey I grew up in is probably at minimum an hour's drive from Carteret, if not longer. For a long time I only knew Carteret because it was on my PathMark club card as the return address. I also went to regular-ass underfunded New Jersey Public School.
This woman responded to my confusion. Apparently there is someone else with my exact name that went to this school that ALSO happens to be in New Jersey?
If I google my own name (which I try to avoid doing), mostly you get my linked in, facebook, a college graduation announcement, and my "professional" github account, but there's one result mixed in for an Alex K* that lives in that general area, but it sure isn't me!
