@ all these companies making thin & light laptops I am begging you to take that beautiful bezel-less, edge to edge keyboard shit ur doing and make a 12" or smaller one instead of everything being ~14" or larger.

My favorite size and shape for a laptop so far has been the first gen lenovo yoga book because it literally felt like a normal laptop scaled down, even compared to my x270.
[the yoga book had to have huge bezels bc the screen size was designed to match the size of the wacom drawing tablet it had instead of a keyboard] but that exact shape but a little thicker to give it a real keyboard and with an 11-12" screen instead would be so sexy & good imho

I'd like to have a macbook air M2, but then in the footprint of a powerbook 12" (both of which I have). I'd also take a 12" Thinkpad with an ARM processor and the passive cooling (and thickness) of an air.

Also, because of work from home I have a docking station with two 27" screens attached. If I need the screen real estate I just connect that. I don't need to have a 13"+ screen in a laptop anymore.

My kids have been playing with my old netbook and I've had this same revelation. It's so small! It doesn't take up any space! You can hold it in one hand and type with the other and use it standing up! Why don't we still make netbooks?

(answer: because tablets were invented, but that's not the same thing)

I have a surface pro 5 with a typecover, and it's almost netbook-but-good except the typecover hinge is floppy and so you need a pretty big flat surface to use the stand on if you want to type while the device stays up

I'm stuck on old cf-f9 toughbooks for the same reason. carry it around typing on it one-handed, if you drop it that's fine, then you fold it up and carry it with its little handle like you're a hacker in a zero-budget Johnny Mnemonic knockoff

I switched from an old gaming laptop to a 13" Framework laptop earlier this year, and while I did it because I was so pissed off about the virtually unreplaceable keyboard on that old piece of shit dying and wanted to make sure I got the most user repairable machine I could find, I was surprised by how much I loved this smaller form factor and light weight.

Same laptop!

Same laptop!

I've gone through net-books since the era of the MSI Wind and the x260 has been the best by far. Great keys, large enough screen to get actual work done.

I dread the idea of replacing this little guy. I walked someone through purchasing an X13 and I don't care for the keys and it feels so much more flimsy.

Bring back 11.6 inchers. 13s were a mistake. :(
