I kinda feel like point and shoots don’t always get the respect they deserve. People are quick to point out their inflated costs and their limited or total lack of repairibility.
Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok have made sure that a wide swath of good to great point and shoots have stratospheric price tags and the baggage of an over bloated mythos. I don’t want to linger on that too much, because at the end of the day I just think it’s cool that people are passionate about film and these especially gadgety film cameras.
All the same it can be tricky to swallow what are often triple digit and up pricetags for what are essentially electronic ticking timebombs that were never intended to be kept in use as long as they have been.
But my little Olympus is the camera I always have on me. It’s helped me catch photos I wouldn’t have otherwise captured and I’m really thankful to it for that!
I love my SLR, I love having greater artistic control over how I shoot my subject and a wider toolset of focal lengths. But I don’t always want to carry around a pound of brass around my neck. So as much as I love my SLR it’s not the camera I’ve put the most rolls through. That’s my Stylus.
I lucked out when I got it and was able to nab it for $20 from someone in the area, but considering how much I’ve gotten out of this camera I wouldn’t hesitate to spend the going rate if my copy bit the dust tomorrow.
So here's my stickered up Oly and some of the photos it's helped me take!
