The Harpy of the West

(drawings, plants, books, movies, and way too many hobbies. if i can make it by hand i probably will. banjo amateur. professional field botanist. will categorize your soil horizons for food.)

i'm looking into getting another birdfeeder for the yard so my first real chost is going to be about this.

the last couple years i've noticed flocks of bushtits passing through more often, a bird i never used to see but am now (reasonably, i think) obsessed with. they are easily mistaken for chickadees, with a similar pipping flock call. after identifying them i knew i wanted to spend more time looking at bushtits. they have ignored the thistle seed i usually have out. now i am researching what they might like better. which led me to this. thank you, gardening dad.
