kinda funny that digital video cable signaling is still encrypted when there's zero benefit to it now. It's just added work and expense. Makes error correction worse when the cable sucks, means more compute required inside the monitor's guts. And everyone + mom + dog can get a splitter that will fix any compatibility issue
When is someone going to just say "you know what? video output unencrypted by default" and just lie to the software side that it is because fuck you it's a waste of money. Some old bag of bones at netflix thinks that hdmi encryption means shit? Who cares, shut up boomer.
