A really great feeling is when you’ve spent a year or five being like “ok once I get everything lined up, I’m going to need to convince person X to do thing Y” and then randomly getting a code review request and it’s person X doing thing Y unprompted.
Coworkers tackling projects on my medium-term todo list continues to kick copious amounts of ass. I love it when "if you want something done right, do it yourself" is blatantly false.
imo: if you want something done right, be kind in showing them how it is important to add it to the commons, and push hard to do your part in a healthy way, so that people are pushed to do theirs.
