i think the coolest non-chost CSS Crime so far is someone figuring out how to to have a thumbnail-based art gallery on their neocities site. how they did is is that they used css selectors to somehow make it that when you click on a thumbnail, it displays the full image (which is a different image file) in the middle of your screeen with a slightly-opaque lightbox background and everything. all without a lick of javascript. pure witchcraft
(long story short: CSS :target makes crime possible once again)
