anime dubs are almost all done with american accents and hot take it is really bad that people in other english-speaking countries generally only get non-local media via the america filter
Can't even avoid it with subs, my fullmetal alchemist blurays are notionally a local Australian release but since the masters are the same as the US they've got Edward and Alphonse trying to resurrect their "mom" instead of their mum
Meanwhile I've seen Americans losing their mind when it's the other way around (there were some UK expressions in the English subs of the series Bartender on bluray, and people were like "lol these are bad subs what does this even mean")
