it's out! https://zine.kawaiiuguu.moe/issue14.html

or https://zine.kawaiiuguu.moe/ for back issues

In this issue I have messed around a bit with Decker in order to make it look all MS-DOS-esque, as befits my upbringing! Otherwise, we have all the usual zine of millie goodness here, including overly personal weird rambly bits! Shoutout to @ahmwwmaaa for the font!

Please let me know what you think!

I really like the use of sound effects and understated transition animations, as well as the use of emoticons in the directory listing. :)

It also sounds like I've missed out on some Discourse regarding Decker. Decks can be hard to explain to people or categorize, perhaps because the notion of "multimedia" or "interactive media" has been mostly abandoned since its heyday in the 90s in favor of media platforms that share static text, images, sound, or video. I think that's too bad. As your zines themselves illustrate, there's a wonderful range of creative space for interactive things that aren't (necessarily) video games or even visual novels.

I mean I don't think there's been Discourse that I've seen, but it's entirely possible I typed something silly and don't remember it, haha, since I write these zines in a haze of Emotion and it's like 6am in the morning and I just woke up. But I definitely agree with everything you said here.

The typing to open each file is so good!! It's so tactile! The zine tune sounds great.

I need to finish putting together my art thoughts about your art thoughts but, oh, it's definitely art.

(and I just did most of the font 🫣 thank you for helping me finish it so it was usable. I'm so happy to see it used so well omg)
