In the evenings when I have time for playing games, what I've been doing is going into the other room where I keep my DOS computer, booting it up, and playing TIE Fighter. Because it's a classic. I could be playing new games, but instead I am playing this game that's like almost 30 years old. Because it owns. And I am too old to want to keep up with recent games.

keeping up with recent games is the kind of thing that makes me want to quit playing video games forever. it's exhausting and usually not my kinda thing anyway

I mean I do also like X-Wing Alliance - I used to play the multiplayer pretty heavily. It's a real pain to get running nicely these days though :(

I had X-Wing first, and that ruled too. I remember doing the Trench Run in a B-Wing because the rebel command wanted to prove it was possible or something. I got Tie Fighter a little later and it was also great! I remember a little about a secret society but this was 25 years ago so it’s fuzzy.
Oh also I didn’t have a joystick so I was playing on a track ball.
Yeah in TIE Fighter there's the Secret Order of the Emperor who give you secondary mission objectives like "make sure to inspect the containers before destroying them"
