cohost lets people write css, and that's great

and lets people upload music, too, and i love that

what if people could upload gameboy roms

look, i know i'm being tongue in cheek, but i'm also being quite honest, too. it really would be nice to have some sort of programming sandbox to play in. i'm getting a little jealous of all the css and svg shitposts.

i'm almost being serious about a gameboy, too.

the fun part about using a console or handheld is that the spec is defined, the emulator is already written, and there's occasionally 60-90% of a tool that does some useful things for you. this almost makes up for the downsides of "people will use it exclusively for roms and keeping things homebrew is a new moderation task"

i'd also just accept being able to cohostpost a LOGO program with a little eggbug instead of a turtle.

yes it can be done through chiframes anyway but imagine the simplicity!

Some are due to go out to people, some are awaiting people to give them to, and one is mine! Also since we are into audio posts at the moment, I have attached an example of some noises the software on these disks can make!

(I have many more than 5 disks just this is what I've done so far. I wanted to get one of each colour made, haha)

If you liked my janky drum machine and janky synthesizer and other janky type items, I have good news! The JankyTunes Suite now takes physical form! If you are interested in getting a disk please get in touch and we can try to work something out!

I've also put up a nice packaged zip (containing the contents of the disk) onto itch, for the sake of posterity and convenience https://micpp.itch.io/the-jankytunes-suite

Protip: if you find yourself wanting to print wraparound floppy disk labels, 7cm by 7cm is the size you want. Luckily this is a common enough size that Avery did it so I could order labels from them online!
