Hm. Comments from private accounts on ANY post are only visible to people approved to follow those accounts. Not sure I like that

they should probably just disable commenting for private accounts until they figure out something better imo
private quote retweets...2!!!!!!!!!! (still bad) (for people that never used twitter if someone quote retweets a tweet while their account is private op can't see it either)
I think the way I would do it is to show the comment, but with the poster hidden if you aren't an approved follower
That way you can still see the comment, but also the hidden account is not revealed
it also sucks if you have a private account:
- you can only talk to people who follow you
- even if you're commenting on a post by someone who follows you, you can't talk to anyone but them
- you cannot tell if people follow you or not

yeah, so many of assc's intentional design features wrt interaction on a social media site are just...bizzare
