i want more clothes but trying to do shopping always gives me large amounts of anxiety! theres too much to learn about fashion to be able to do online shopping!! things are dificult sometimes

i dont even know what different kinds of things are called! i dont know how to start learning all that! and what i want to look like! and its difficult and all too much for me to handle often

Fashion can be pretty tricky yeah, but general rule of thumb is that sticking to more neutral colors tends to work well for beginners. Vibrant or saturated colors can look great, but they require a lot more fashion knowledge to pull off.

It also helps to think about contrast; for instance, wearing a shade of pink that too closely matches one's skin type will look weird, and if your hair is longer you have to consider how it will look with certain colors. For example, with my long black hair, I don't think wearing a black top fits very well; But a dark grey still works because you can still see my hair easily against the color.

some tips (though i'm still working on this a lot myself): go shopping with friends if you can especially at thrift stores, buy a lot of fast-fashion stuff online and don't be afraid to return what doesn't work (Old Navy / Gap is good for Tall sizes), watch videos of other people's hauls, browse the #clothes and #fashion tags here, and there's lots of good info on Reddit and Ask Metafilter:
