@morayati

I'm currently looking for SWE work, any leads would be appreciated! Some of my recent projects can be found on my GitHub, my website (if you recognize the format: yes, it is that), or my CV.

  • Full-stack, frontend or backend all OK
  • My past work has been JavaScript/React, Ruby, and Python, some projects with PostgreSQL and MongoDB; I also have some experience with TypeScript and Go. Happy to train on other stacks, though!
  • Either NYC area or remote -- I actually have a slight preference for hybrid/in person, but either is fine! (Just signed a long-term lease, so unfortunately can't relocate.
  • Nothing evil

My email, currently, is katherinemorayati @ gmail. Feel free to reach out or reshare, and thank you!

in reply to @morayati's post:

No promises, because hurricane season makes my employer skittish about making changes (we do insurance-coordination things), but we should hire people soon, after the CTO and other senior developer left. Right now, it's me, two junior developers from non-traditional backgrounds, and three consultants, one of whom is our manager because he's been on the project the longest and it's hurricane season.

I'll ask tomorrow (may take time, since our CEO is basically HR) and also check with the consultants. We're fully remote, but they have an office in western Suffolk County (Northport, specifically) for anybody who wants to camp out. Neither is a dream job, by any means, but the people at both are decent...

I couldn't track down anybody in charge on my side, but the consulting people seemed interested. I worked there for four years, pre-pandemic, so I can say that I like the people there, even if the work was literally all the jobs that I've passed up over the years. https://www.avi.com/, if you want to investigate them or gasp at their awful website.
