it's amazing how fast the lack of numbers on this site rewires your brain for the better. i get like ten likes and i'm like wow another banger chost
I like it but also my brain dislikes it. Lack of numbers makes me think less about how posts do, but also doesn’t give me that Quantifiable Value of having a post that Has Value which my brain unfortunately somewhat relies on for self worth
it's honestly so freeing...i'm legitimately reconsidering getting a plugin for my browser that hides numbers on twitter and tumblr too
yeah! It's pretty nice to just be like "Oh hey people liked it! :D" and not get hung up on numbers. even seeing notifications of someone liking a post and seeing individual names is a far cry from seeing a big ol' number.
I assure you its better when you get used to it It deprograms the "My worth = my follower count / post likes" that has been hammered into us over so many years of this stuff
