as we all know, "cannae" is scots-english for "cannot", which also implies a coastal/island european linguistic etymology for the rest

"bin" of course is where one puts their trash

and following from your own analysis of "boid" we can deduce that "oid" means "-like object"

thus "cannabinoid" likely means "i cannot with this garbage-like object"

if we assume the kind of phonetic changes that occurred in romance languages following the collapse of the roman empire

where a word with a labial-velar semivowel sound /w/ sound (spelled "v") in nearly all descendant languages gradually shifted into a labio-dental voiced fricative /v/ which then in some dialects (as of spanish) started to be realized as a bilabial voiced plosive /b/

and how "bin" (as in "garbage container") and "bin" (as post-romaniticized "win") together formed "binbin" which was later reanalyzed as diminutive reduplication (really the only form of reduplication common in germanic languages), and so in the augmentative context was simplified to simply "bin"

despite the morphological changes, the sense of both "garbage" and "win" was preserved, with folk eymologies and reconstructed origin stories to back up this inherited meaning, while the true etymology of "binbin" was lost

thus giving us the modern form "cannabinoid" with the standard meaning "(garbage i cannot win)-like object"
