- Bob, who you follow, posts a reply to Alice's chost
- Bob's reply is not visible to you in the home feed, nor on Bob's profile
- If Bob links you his reply via third-party channels, you'll only see his reply; no indication that it's in reply to Alice, or even that it's a reply at all.
Mastodon does similar and maybe there's some safeguarding considerations I've missed but I'd really, really like it if we could instead adopt the twitter/bluesky model of at least telling you "hey there's supposed to be a post here but you're blocked from seeing it" as opposed to pretending it doesn't exist at all.
