I watch youtube (mistake) for game info sometimes (huge mistake) and the amount of people who talk about games without understanding how any of it works is the norm, nothing new there
But so many of these ppl report on VR as if it's doing good, pointing to appl vr sells while ignoring almost 1/3rd of all of them are returned, sony literally stopping making them since they can't sell em, and the only "hope" is valve gives this hobby another shot in the arm
It's awful for sure, but this disconnect is so weird to me! None of the people I've seen report that vr is doing good, actually PLAY anything in vr
It's like grifting for an entire concept while reaping only negative attention for yourself?? I don't get it
I think the biggest take away is I need better avenues of info, where do people get their news/gaming news from??
I have a vr headset and I havent used it in over a year. I occasionally have the urge to play beat saber but then I remember how long it takes to set up and I don't.
(I have a standalone headset. I just need to charge the headset, replace the batteries in the controllers, clear out a space to play, find some wired headphones, wipe off the lenses, actually put on the headset, adjust all the straps, launch the app, and then play. It's easy.)
The most fun I had with it was playing VR chat with friends, but that only happened twice and I don't have time to make it a regular thing.
