in reply to @mintexists's post:

Not really, but i've never really had a problem washing since I think I was circumcised(?), at least partially since it doesn't cover my member fully. So washing is the same as any other part of my body.

nope! parents made sure to tell me, repeatedly, that i had to wash under it. i think probably from an understanding of how this is excluded from sex ed. and like, pretty sure i had a decent sex ed class.

also, though, from https://www.seattlechildrens.org/conditions/a-z/foreskin-care-questions/:

Over time, the foreskin will separate from the head of the penis. This is a natural process and occurs over 5 to 10 years. It slowly loosens up (retracts) a little at a time.

most kids do not get any sex ed by age 10

though i guess that page also has this option:

The No-Retraction Approach to the Foreskin:

  • Some doctors advise that a parent should never attempt to retract the foreskin. They also say never clean under the foreskin.
  • They teach that only the boy himself should ever retract his foreskin. This teaching should occur after puberty or about age 12.

As someone with a t-dick, I was also never taught that from any other transmasc people or anyone else really, it took me a while to notice i even needed to wash it with more care now, and then i had to google it and found a random reddit post that taught me what to do with it lmao
