oh boy do i have some good news for you (EDITED - I AM WRONG)

@modulusshift pointed out that this could be from when the site changed to a tumblr theme for a day, which @jkap had posted about bfore. I checked some hex colors and indeed that is correct

I still miss the one that I recall going in the hardest on this, a now-deceased tracker from the 2010s who did a variety of holiday skins which had optional snow, confetti (for new years), feathers for various bird holidays, etc as well as custom color palettes.

that sounds incredible. for one or two years we had the falling snowflakes (they're even in the same directory as the animated gifs above), though i think the source for that particular goof is long gone

cohost definitely had an April Fools joke earlier this year, think it was getting acquired by Yahoo, changed the site theme to Tumblr IIRC. Jae posted screenshots of it a while back. So could be that? Or something else lol

Oh yea im pretty sure you are correct. Some chaos day colors match very well with tumblrs colors. Good thinking!
