things that are nice about being a tall strong furry woman in final fantasy: being able to wear more butch looks without looking like a tiny anime fish out of water

things that are not nice: holy shit SE how are we still on this fucking "you cannot wear 99% of hats in the entire game" shit, the ears are barely even there, they do not protrude farther than some hairstyles and you are more than happy to let everything from hair to body parts clip through every garment with wild abandon so why the fuck can't my cat woman put a goddamn fucking big silly witch hat on

its getting wild like, we're 3 expansions into hrothgar existing and it seems like they've just fully decided anything that sits on the head like a normal hat is Just Impossible to adapt
thankful for the mod that greatly expands the selection (assuming its still around, I still haven't jumped on DT) but i want other people to see my big wizard hat too cmon

i like doing the cool chic butch looks and shit but sometimes i desperately need to be a big stupid witch in big robes and a 3-foot hat and they are robbing me of this

I'm thankfully of the opinion of "there are shockingly few hats in the game that I even liked the look of" so having to rely on circlets and hairclip-ish stuff (and the couple of tiny hats) doesn't really chafe me too much, but also that doesn't stop it from being clearly ridiculous. I was hoping that they'd do a slow, gradual pass on hrothgar hats now that they're like 99% done with undoing genderlocks for clothes, but now they're doing a slow gradual pass of additional dye channels and the graphics update, so probably not

part of what drives me crazy is it's not even consistent about which types of more-minimal hats are allowed. like, the bonewicca mask that covers a good chunk of the head is fine, but the sky pirate masks that only cover the eyes and mouth aren't. when there are both eye-covering and mouth-covering options separately that you can wear! also arum corsages were a go-to default headwear for me before but on hrothgals they're inexplicably placed in a weird way that doesnt look good so that's even more options effectively off the table

i truly just wish they would let me put whatever up there and decide for myself whether it looks acceptable. just like you do with half of the other clothing in this game, because there are all sorts of dumb clipping and other interactions that haven't been forbidden by the whims of god. the first thing i did when i resubbed was watch tataru phase her arm directly through a gigantic brimmed hat and yknow, That's Fine

Yeah the sky pirate stuff is definitely stuff I keep seeing on the market board and hitting the preview button for before remembering they aren't real... and don't worry, its fine! I definitely understand the source of frustration
