I'm a believer in the idea that a great soundtrack can elevate even a middling game. unfortunately in the case of forspoken, they chose two dull composers and had them make a "what you see is what you get" soundtrack

there's a reason almost every well-regarded JRPG has a distinct high-energy score for entering battle, it conveys how you should feel about the situation. generic danger music does nothing to convey anything other than exactly what's going on and does the shallow combat no favors

this is such a blind spot for big western games. the soundtracks have no oomph to them, they're extremely predictable because they're so desperate to make things seem more filmic

I would expect like a thumping bass-line with the orchestra on top delivering melody that's downbeat but with an unpredictable-seeming rising melody. convey the feeling of this character who's been kept pushed down by the forces around her, but is still fighting to survive

they probably wouldn't feel the need to repeat so many of the canned combat dialogue if the music was strong enough to fill the silence left by the boring music
