this is important because in that timespan, the dev of duckstation joined the team and made gargantuan strides for the project. it's now a very competitive emulator approaching dolphin levels of good UI and compatibility with virtually everything (minus dolphin's years of constant polish). it's worth giving it a look if you've been disappointed in the past with how out of sync ps2 emulation was starting to feel
