random idea: for every head of a hydra killed, two come in its place, one being the original, one being new.

in this scenario, assuming each hydra head only celebrates its original decapitation, this means that we can apply the theory of the birthday problem to figure out how many actual birthdays these heads celebrate, assuming an even distribution not determined by external factors (which we can do because this is fantasy).

Rather than actually figure out how to do math, I ended up asking Wolfram Alpha about the probability distribution of at least three sharing a birthday: 64.59% of the time we will have 3 hydra heads celebrating their decapitation days on the same day!

In a 365 day year, this would equate to only 2 days of the year less than 100 decapitation days, or 98 parties and 267 days for the rest of us.

(i have all their decapitation days on my calendar, i love my friends)
