i have a handful of tilesets (each tile is 8x8px) with an identical layout as the one i attached. i need to turn these into a more usable layout so i can make auto-tiles out of them in godot. does anyone have any advice, either tools or just a strategy of what a good way to go about doing that would be :?

currently my grand plan is to just. sit here in aseprite for a while and try to assemble this literal jigsaw puzzle of a sheet. this would probably work after a long time but i also need to repeat this for those other sheets and aseprite would not be a good tool for that. maybe i could record my screen or something? that would still be very cumbersome. so if anyone has any advice plz do tell

i think it sounds very frustrating :P especially the part where id need to do it multiple times. i may assign a specific color to each 8x8 tile and arrange those so i could repeat it with a script or something. but tbh this is starting to devolve into a "wow if only i had a tool specifically made for this usecase thatll take 5 days to make" situation

well i know what it can look like. like this is a spritesheet ripped from lego battles the DS game. you can just load up a map and see how its used. theres a lot of variations of a specific tile though. like you can see a bazillion different trees which all depend on their surroundings and state. some grass sprites only show up in X ratio compared to other variations etc etc

or if u mean a pattern in the sprite sheet layout, i have not uncovered it. you can see that a lot of the sprites are grouped by 2x1 and 3x1 arrangements of 8x8 tiles, but also some groups like the trees are seperated by mine tiles and even entirley unused sectors, so i have no clue what a single equation for assembling this would be
