what if there was a video chat/group chat platform that was unstructured?

you can invite people into a "server", kinda like Discord, but instead of there being channels and whatnot, you just coexist in a space. whenever you want to talk to someone, you just click on them and boom, you're in a call. others can see that you two are talking, and if they want to join, they can just click on you, and now they're in too.

you can also set up events that are visible and people can click on that to join too.

i feel like this is more natural than having voice channels or whateverthefuck. thoughts?

in reply to @mog's post:

I think my workplace used a tool like that in January 22, when they had to move an event to remote due to covid.

You had like a big field where the background image had some rooms with departments or topics painted in but they didn't make any functional difference. You saw everyone else's profile pic move about on the field, as soon as you got close enough to someone else a call with optional video opened up, and others would see theres a group talking and move over to listen in or add their thoughts.

Ill try to find what it was called..

EDIT: after combing old emails, it was wonder.me unfortunately the pricing model does make it less realistic to just chill and coexist in
