I'd like to make a more in depth post at some point detailing my interest in sumo, such as when it started and how I got into it, etc., but for now I just want to share that my favorite rikishi (sumo wrestler) is currently tied for the lead with a 7-1 record in this November tournament! It's the final tournament of the year and would be his first win in a storied career if he is able to clinch the title. He has been my favorite rikishi since I started following sumo in 2018. This win would be huge for both him and me. His name: Takayasu! Please send Takayasu your energy as tomorrow begins the final week of this Kyushu basho!
