Petrodactyl spotter in exile

Where is it from? Is it actually a part of a series? How old is this thing anyway? Why can't I ask Gerald about his goggles? What does "turdery" mean?

The internet provides no answers, only more questions.

ETA: Thanks to the comment from @noise I am now able to provide a link to the OG artist's Etsy shop.

Internet says the author is Ryan Abegglen from the now-private site https://ryanabegglen.com

Internet archive has a wayback machine version from way back: https://web.archive.org/web/20130329014718/http://www.ryanabegglen.com/ (which shows a few more cards like that one, namely https://web.archive.org/web/20131027222643/http://ryanabegglen.com/images/art/trevor.jpg https://web.archive.org/web/20131027234806/http://ryanabegglen.com/images/art/kevin.jpg https://web.archive.org/web/20131028011624/http://ryanabegglen.com/images/art/todd.jpg https://web.archive.org/web/20131027214418/http://ryanabegglen.com/images/art/cecil.jpg https://web.archive.org/web/20131027232650/http://ryanabegglen.com/images/art/karen.jpg

The series seems to be at least from 2009, i.e. at least 11 years old, but might be older. (the site also has an email contact for the author who might know about goggles part but I am not sure if it is working or not) Author sells them on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/ryanabegglen)

Turdegy is probably related to 'turd', as in 'having a quality of turd in some way'. Alternative definition seems to be similar to try-hard

Thanks for the info! I was unable find anything myself (thank you modern search engines for sucking so much) and even a reverse image search just gave me Pinterest and Reddit people asking where this is from.
