Since Last Entry
I spent most of this week in an in-person all-hands for the place that I work.
I don't know. It wasn't the worst experience, but I'm also just not a fan of in-person stuff, crowded rooms full of people I don't know, long long lecture-style presentations with no breaks, and not being able to sleep in my own bed or generally have my routine.
When I found out that Friday was intended as a travel day for out-of-towners, I got Ren a gift for covering for my ass around the house before leaving the Seattle area and then drove the fuck back home, arriving at 10PM last night.
Today
Even if the VP of Engineering hadn't explicitly told people to recharge, that's what I'd be doing today. I actually do have a few things that I'd like to do that's "for work" if I can get to them, but if I don't, I will forgive myself and they will never even know that that was a goal for myself.
Feelings
I'm extremely relieved to be home. I have some hope for this job because my boss has given me the exact project that interests me the most at this company, I've made the necessary connections to get the job done, and I'm ACTUALLY BEING TREATED LIKE AN EXPERIENCED DEVELOPER. We'll see if I can maintain the enthusiasm long-run.
