i remember losing my mind when i saw the vulture droid ships walking on their wings and looking around. i immediately got the sense that this was completely different army from the imperial army. then when qui-gon and obi wan are fighting off the droids and need to get thru the door i remember thinking to myself “cut open the door! …but that won’t happen” and then IT DID. and then they locked even more doors, making it too thick to cut thru. then i thought to myself “heat up the door and melt it!! …but that wont happen” and then IT DID. it seems simple now, but back then digital effects like that were Not Really A Thing. so to have a scene play out like that really rocked my child mind.
