i really hope i feel some excitement for dawntrail eventually but so far i'm just so Whatever on it. like i already know how the jobs will play even if i don't know the aesthetics, i already know how the story will unfold even if i don't know the specifics. after endwalker feeling like such a mess, i was kinda feeling like the game needed a significant overhaul (or at least needed to take some weird risks). i appreciate the low stakes energy of "go on vacation and have a good time" but ffxiv is so ridiculously rigid in its structure its hard to feel excited for more when i already know what "more" means (the same as before). doesn't help that i don't really care for any of the scions so i don't feel particularly excited about another adventure with them either.
