when i go to the theatre they often play little interviews with directors/writers/actors about their upcoming movie. and they had one playing last time i went from the guy making the new tmnt movie, and you could see him sweating bullets when he started saying “we made this for the fans, we wanted to respect the fans, we’re actually all big fans ourselves” and i think more creators would benefit from taking a more matrix resurrections attitude towards its fanbase (“fuck you, you’re a stupid idiot and an asshole. enjoy the movie or don’t, dickhead.”). don’t lower yourself to the level of a “fan”
