least controversial opinion ever (i think anyway), but disney really feels like they have no idea what to do with star wars. star wars works best as parables for children first, visual storytelling second, and lore/worldbuilding at a very distant third. and it seems like they only have the barest grasp on the lore/worldbuilding aspect, and don’t even realize the other two elements matter. this post brought to by me not being able to even finish hate-watching mando s3 because oh my god who cares about the mandalorians or bo katan. i could tolerate mando if it even bothered to write and structure a decent moral parable for children to enjoy, but it seems more concerned with adults who care about callbacks and lore drops. it’s all just boring, flatly shot, and totally uninterested in telling a real story on any level. i doubt ahsoka is any better. im sorry to be bitter, but i dont even “hate” disney star wars, im just utterly bored and disinterested in it, and that’s even worse imo.
