why don’t cats like being in water? also, do cats actually not like being in water or is that made up. i know one of my cats did but that’s not a huge sample pool

No clue. But, consistently with my theory that one of our three cats will be hell bent on doing something differently, two of them won't even step on wet, freshly-cleaned floor while the third one will be like... yolo.
It depends on the cat, but if you start from a young age you can train them to not go into, "WTF WTF WTF IM DYING IM DYING IM DYING WHAT IS THIS WET STUFF THIS IS TORTURE I MUST FLEE OR FIGHT MY WAY OUT FOR MY SURVIVAL", mode so you can at least give them a bath if they need it.
