the thing that floors me about elden ring is it’s the first souls game where i can actually try (and enjoy) different builds. i’ve done like 5 or 6 radically different builds and they all work, though i could never quite figure out how to make a str build work without over relying on jump attacks. but the fact i can make a mage build not only work, but make it fun? that’s nuts to me. a far cry from trying to get thru undead burg as a mage in ds1, oof. hell my current fire mage/fai build is probably my fav out of all of them. just awesome they finally made builds besides dex katanas fun and viable (from the get-go).
