ping ponged between incredibly tense and incredibly funny the whole time. beautifully shot, but ultimately i was bit sad to see it dial back on the elements that people mock shyamalan for, the sincerity and experimentalism. not that it was lacking in sincerity, but this took it to about an 8, when he usually goes for 11. might be shyamalan’s most normal movie? basically a perfect (re)intro shyamalan movie for people who still think he sucks.
