It's not fluff-required, it's banding together. You'd need to produce alternative implementations of C and C++ for all the ABIs that matter. Then, once you do, you start to make your own changes to the implementations and provide such huge improvements that people cannot imagine existing without your toolchain. You keep encroaching upon the space and pushing yourself in until you begin to overtake the original toolchai--
