i think more than everything else the lack of an ability to see contentful shares (you don't have to Count them if you don't want to, cohost, i know you hate Numbers) on my posts makes me not really want to use this website. i had actually already escaped the demon of Metrics on tumblr dot com when i had all my notification settings set to only show me additions to my posts and ignore notifless reblogs and likes. i don't want to see my notes because of Dark Pattern Skinner Boxes Number Go Up or whatever i want to see them because sometimes people put interesting and clever things in there that i like reading and sometimes responding to

in reply to @tattletale's post:

you’ve made a post mentioning tags already, so I won’t say more than just “I want to be able to see their tags, bc ppl add banger tags” on that. But the thing about what you are saying already exists is those are a handful of different posts and it’s not organized (at least in mine they aren’t organized based on post like yours are, they’re all everywhere based on when a person added something)

While that still works and scuffs by (the numerous duplicates of the same share with the same reply that happen for some reason(???) get annoying tho) for a nobody like me, those are an absolute mess for someone with a large active amount of followers.

Compared to like, having the ability of looking at the notes on a singular post on tumblr and seeing everyones thoughts and inputs on that one subject if you see it’s popping up a lot in your notifications for some reason. I know I’m not everyone, so for some not having that as an option for shares/share tags is not an issue, but I find that not being able to focus on just one specific post (besides comments) sometimes overwhelming.

Like I get cohost is different, and works differently, and I shouldn’t expect it to all Be The Same ^TM but I don’t think it’s wrong of us to voice our thoughts on something if we feel it is just being subtractive to our experience, instead of being something unique. (Although, I can’t say this is what op meant by making this post, these are my own personal experiences with cohost so far.)

Hm, this is long, apologies about that.

those are an absolute mess for someone with a large active amount of followers.

Not just people with lots of followers. I'm someone who gets maybe an average of 2 notifications per month, and I still manage to lose track of mine sometimes because of a bug I've been experiencing. I still haven't figured out the specifics of the problem well enough to report it.

Just pointing this out so that the desire for reblog lists doesn't get construed as only a problem for bigtime popular bloggers. This kind of feature is a reasonable desire for anybody and everybody. After all, people can be interested in seeing the additions on other people's posts, too, not just their own.

I definitely agree with you there, and I would love being able to see a list of the additions of others of ppls posts that aren’t mine (that aren’t comments). People put some very interesting additions that I might want to share in addition to the original post :D
