i know exactly how this person came to this, if it's not bait. observe:
- hear of "dungeon meshi" getting an anime, a manga about people facing what's inside of the dungeon. decide this must be aiming for the same audience as made in abyss, and be just-about the same thing but with a dungeon instead of a Great Chasm Straight To Hell.
- watch dungeon meshi anime, expecting a made in abyss clone, only ready to take in comparables with made in abyss.
- receive extremely few comparables with made in abyss, due to the completely differing target audiences of each series, with those you have found seeming to be pale against made in abyss if your axis of analysis has not updated.
- do not question why you saw far more adventuring and cooking

seriously tho, if you saw that take and are beliving it: dungeon meshi is "traumatized gang of misfits learns to love adventure through the combined power of friendship, compassion, Ravenous Devourment Of Foes, and care for the environment" and made in abyss is "wanna watch a child watching another child become environmental storytelling? wanna see it again? wanna see it again? wanna see it again? ok im done. haha syke now she's performing a field amputation". these are wildly different series.
also dungeon meshi has about 100% less naked children
