The Mrs was hogging my main Steam account the other day, and I took it as an opportunity to play something from the Epic Games Store, which ended up being Ironcast.
And, oh shit, this is actually really fun??
It's steampunk mech combat, where you draw matches on the board to gain different currencies. You've got your ammo (purple pentagon), energy (orange diamond), coolant (blue hexagon), repair (green triangle), and scrap (yellow square). Shootin' takes ammo, and movin' and shieldin' uses energy. But both use coolant, and running out of that means taking hull damage.
It's just really fun and relaxing and surprisingly really difficult. I got obliterated in like my second match multiple times. It's also structured like a roguelike where you level up your mech and your abilities, but you don't get any do-overs. Instead, a Global Unlock bar gives you bonuses and abilities for your next run.
Anyway, if you're into match-3 garbage like me, maybe give it a looksie?
