no idea! best case scenario, this is something that only applies to newer versions of unity. long as i never upgrade, i'm safe. worst case scenario, that's $0.20 shaved off every sale. taking into account payment processor fees, returns, and steam's 30% cut, that leaves me with... like a dollar per sale of a three-dollar game?

Wowzers just read the news, player install fees?! And they are monthly?! That's gonna be like 15k-40k a month even at lowest levels, well there goes the Unity indie market.

I suggest checking out Godot, not as many bells and whistles but since it's open source pretty much guaranteed this will never happen at least
