Won't you please think about the neurotypicals that couldn't really give a shit about anyone but themselves?

I do UI programming for AAA games and I have opinions about adult games

“Person-first language” is demeaning patronizing bullshit and makes me instantly hostile.
So you disagree with OP? Just double checking.
D’oh. Only on an unintentional technicality. This has the exact same issues as PFL, to such an extent I overlooked the order of the words.
Ah okay! Thank you for explaining that. I appreciate you!
I hate this shit so much. It's frustrating and annoying to have to deal with "this thing is an entire identity and set of rules that you need to navigate" vs "this is a trait you possess and makes up an element of who you are"
This article isn't even positivity. People who legitimately believe that the "gender identity" community is glorifying mental illness cite articles like this as a source.
I have a sneaking suspicion that articles like these are not actually about accepting ADHD people- instead, these articles give people who are vehemently against doing so a valid reason for holding that opinion.
And while that may not be their original intent, as we all know from social media- any article that validates an opinion like that gets an absolute crap ton of clicks....
what do you think would make this any different than any other identity first term? disabled people is the preferred term by in-group and i don’t think it implies anything at all about folks having the same symptoms or not containing multitudes?
for identity-first stuff the idea that it’s not something you can be separated from is fairly important, do you find adhd is less … defining, for lack of a better word? that’s certainly my experience with it too to be clear! just want to understand where you’re coming from
Something about the hyphen in ADHD-people is really grating. I don't know if I could articulate why but the hyphen adds this uncomfortable sense of alienation.
