I do UI programming for AAA games and I have opinions about adult games
I'm sure it is, but I've been lowkey in love with the concept of cooperative card play since Sojourner and I'm excited to see someone else having a go at it.
Thank you, darling! I haven't played Sojourner (and perhaps I should), but my main inspirations for this game mode were the dance battles in Ooblets and the shopping gameplay in Potionomics.
Ah yess potionomics, I see it now.
And yeah you should totally give Sojourner a try! I don't think the card playing itself will have much for you (especially since it looks like you're already doing a colour matching thing), but the deck -building- in there is definitely one of the most elegant little low-friction weddings of roleplay and gameplay that I've seen. The mix of voluntary and involuntary-but-predictable modifications to your deck tie together choice and consequence in a way that wraps together every system in the game in a big ol hug. Plus the music is great and it's not thaaat long.
