Dearest cohost, I bring to you an incredible discovery via the "Files Found" blog: someone who bought a SNES RPG Maker game which turns out to have had on it a complete RPG named "FORCE OF SEX":
Imagine finding a one-of-a-kind digital artifact and then censoring it before showing it off to the world. 😐

I'm pleased to report that FORCE OF SEX is one of those weird eroges that's actually a legitimate ass game
Per the article, "Rail" (レイル) is clipped from "Railroad" (レイロード) which is either picking a cool-sounding foreign word without much care for its meaning or (less likely) a joke about games that "railroad" the player. The other names seem to be generic fantasy fare, and the animals are based on onomatopoeia: "Minya" ミーニャ incorporates ニャ "meow"; "Kerorone" ケロロン incorporates ケロ "ribbit"; "Kokeko" コケッコ is clipped from コケコッコー "cock-a-doodle-doo" (compare "Cucco" コッコ in the Zelda games).
I think the TTRPG "railroading" term is a bit too new to show up here. From some quick searching it seems like early citations are around 2004, which is a decade too early for this, and I don't think English TTRPG terms would have been making it over to Japan outside the tiny TTRPG niche.
I got that, I was more referring to the unintentional(?) pun on, uh, railing
it is surprisingly difficult to find actual etymology on that let alone whether it would be known in Japan

Edit: Also, this is the second RPG-ish character design I've seen named Rail? I wonder if there's any kind of common influence at play here or if it's a total coincidence

With the skipping of sex scenes and explicit mention that nothing in them is endorsed by the writer, I got a mental image of person playing the game and sternly shaking their head in disapproval of all the consensual premarital sex going on.
Though to be fair, they did link to the rom, so anyone curious enough and capable of reading Japanese can play it themselves.
It's so upsetting! At least don't blur the screenshot, so I can translate it myself!!
Anyway I think it'd be insane if someone remade this game or a spiritual successor to it.
I mean... I kinda get it if they don't want their blog to be that kind of space, though I must admit I was a bit disappointed when a post literally titled FORCE OF SEX didn't include at least one goofy sex scene haha
