I have (allegedly) survived another weeklong business trip to the beautiful city of Stockholm. I have again seen fuck-all of the city because it was just an expensive way to get me in an office from 9 AM to 6 PM for five days. You see, the first time you go on a business trip, you are made to feel like a ⭐star⭐. Your employer pays for your trip, including your flight and fancy hotel room. But I've made too many of these trips by now, and in truth, it just fucking sucks to be away from your home and family for five days.
What did I do in Stockholm? I went to the office from 9 AM to 6 PM every day, and then I either went out to dinner or grabbed McDonald's while I worked on my own projects. I basically did five ten-hour days, flew back on a Saturday, and only had Sunday off before work started again on Monday. Because it's never enough. Your achievements are soon forgotten in the face of new deadlines and new demands.
