the radio clicks when i set the transmit. i have the monitor feature off but rf on anywhere from 20 to 15 meters makes my speakers buzz. the buzz is cleaner than it's been, ALC on the radio shows 90-98 which is apparently good on this radio where on most of them the alc would be bad. i don't know. i've stopped knowing.

psk reporter shows that a human being can hear my furious five watts and that's going to be enough for me now. maybe some day they'll respond, we'll talk a bit, i'll tell them their signal, they'll tell me mine, Gridtracker will make a nice ding, and we'll go on with our day. but it's enough to know i can be heard, with an antenna i bought as a broke kid just out of college with the last of my loose cash, a million years ago and eight hundred miles east of here.

no one responded. i "watchdogged", which is just wsjt-x timing out when you don't get a response after a predetermined time. it's fine. doesn't look like i'm hitting as far west or south as i usually go this time of day. but i was heard, even if i'm not always the center of attention.

some day i'll work up the stones to make a voice call. maybe i'll even clean up my office so i can take a picture of my jank-ass setup to put on qrz and piss off some Elmers with.
