I feel like "regrowth" would be a better term for the ~future oriented socialist~ movement than "degrowth". Focusing on rebuilding the international food and logistics web to enable a healthier, more sustainable and more resilient network is going to take more than just downscaling. It'll involve giving the global south the means to actualize themselves and their industries in a way that employes contemporary technologies and give them more space on the world stage, after all. We say goodbye to the norm of capitalist over exploitation of persons, animal, and ecology, yes, but the word degrowth reeks of a voluntary global austerity that isn't going to win anyone over. And it shouldn't.
