One thing about me: I know nothing of the Nintendo Wii. Blipped it completely. The only game I ever reviewed was The Last Story. So, an offbeat game like Captain Rainbow, from the creators of Giftpia, was never on my radar.
The game sees a goofy hero try to help wayward Nintendo characters in a lifestyle sim. One of those is Birdo, who gets policed for using the women's restroom, which leads to a quest of affirming her gender. Due to the irreverent tone of the game, as seen below, there's some controversy on the merits of the explicit confirmation of Birdo's identity, but I think it's pretty prescient for a 2008 game from the oldheads at Nintendo. They're still kinda figuring it out, 15 years later.
