they should make controllers that don't develop incurable potentiometer miscalibration. just a thought, things should be made so they're good or something to that effect.

i know gravis had that big post bout the office chair that finally was a Good Product and how fucking maddening it is to be sold time and time again the same fucking Sludge that comes in many different colors and shapes and ends up in the same way, which is to say in a fucking landfill. im tired of throwing shit away dude, and i can only tinker and futz and fart with gizmos if they meet me anywhere that could be considered "about halfway". but all the fucking shlop that is pushed into everyone's hands is literally worth less than the dirt that'll be covering it up. i can't even say it's maddening any longer, i'm just so fucking tired of Trash.

I absolutely feel this, it's disgusting realizing how many of the products you're surrounded with don't even work. Years of industrialization, and all of our development goes toward making more garbage instead of anything better - the average item made today, with over a hundred years of innovation in materials, labor, development, etc - is not as good as its counterpart from over 100 years ago.

Not just gizmos or gadgets, but everything that once existed has gotten worse I think. A table does not hold as long, neither does a chair, or a bed, an electric fan is more energy efficient until it becomes e-waste in 3 years anyways while the old general electric metal hot dog slicer still works. It makes you wonder, if room was open for us to just buy one good thing and profits weren't considered, how much would the average quality of everything improve? Idk

yup! just seems there's a lot of mummering about initial calibration and sensitivity woes with them all the same, and the build quality on the rest of the controller Does Not Seem Great. It's really cool technology that doesn't seem all the dialed in but i hope more pick up on it.

Office chairs indeed. When I was shopping for an ergonomic office chair, the ergo guy pretty much said "you can get an ergonomic chair for $200", the actual difference is that you'll still be using the nice chair in 20 years". Boots theory of chairs and all that
